PLC Panels are housed in enclosures to protect the electronic components from environmental factors such as dust, moisture, and physical damage. The type of enclosure used depends on the specific environmental conditions of the installation site.
The core component of the panel is the programmable logic controller (PLC). This is the industrial computer responsible for executing control logic based on the programmed instructions. PLCs are typically mounted on a DIN rail inside the panel.
Input and output modules (I/O modules) connect the PLC to external devices such as sensors, switches, motors, and valves. These modules are wired to the terminal blocks within the panel.
